Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs for Stanbic IBTC Trustees Limited (SITL), while ensuring full adherence to applicable laws, regulations, codes, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will monitor regulatory developments, interpret relevant laws, and guide the business on compliance best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement compliance frameworks for SITL in line with regulatory requirements
- Interpret relevant laws and regulations, and advise the business on proper compliance strategies
- Monitor ongoing regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation within the business
- Evaluate the regulatory landscape and incorporate any new obligations into business operations
- Promote a culture of compliance across the organization through continuous education and communication
Qualifications and Experience
- A first degree in Law is required
- LLB or Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Sponsorship by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5–7 years post-NYSC experience in a Compliance-related function
- Proven experience in Trust law and related regulatory frameworks
